Welcome to Allergy Awareness Week 2025

This Allergy Awareness Week, we join Allergy UK in championing their impactful new campaign – I Wish I Knew. The initiative aims to inform and empower individuals to recognise the early signs of allergies, take proactive steps for management, and live full, uncompromised lives.

At Serve Legal, we fully support this mission, drawing on two decades of compliance auditing to highlight why addressing allergies is not just a best practice—it's a business imperative.

Allergies on the Rise

By 2026, it’s estimated that 1 in 2 people in Europe will be living with an allergy. Despite this rapid rise, misconceptions about allergies persist. Allergies are too often viewed as minor inconveniences rather than chronic health conditions that require attention and understanding. 

The statistics are sobering:

  • 50% of adults with food allergies developed them after the age of 35 (BMJ, 2024).
  • 80% of people with asthma also have other allergic conditions (Asthma UK).
  • 90% of eczema patients have an additional allergic condition, and one in four have three or more allergies (Not Just Skin Deep, 2021).

  • Allergies can appear at any age: Early recognition is crucial for effective management.
  • Being diagnosed matters. Accurate diagnosis is the first step to control and prevention.
  • Could it be allergies? Other health conditions, like eczema and asthma, are often triggered by underlying allergies.
