Following last week’s successes at the Elite Business Awards, we are thrilled to share more exciting news: Serve Legal has achieved outstanding recognition at the Better Society Awards.
Out of 57 businesses shortlisted across 27 categories, we are proud to announce that Serve Legal secured the highest number of shortlist positions, being shortlisted for four awards.

This award recognises companies that demonstrate a holistic commitment to supporting their workforce.
At Serve Legal, we’ve built a workplace culture where the mental, physical, and social wellbeing of our staff and freelance auditors is prioritised. From home office upgrade allowances and team meetups to auditor socials and public recognition schemes, our initiatives have yielded measurable success. In 2024 alone, our auditor base expanded from 4,000 to 10,000, showcasing the impact of our people-first approach.
Philanthropy Award
Serve Legal’s philanthropic efforts span partnerships with organisations like Young Minds, supporting youth mental health, and initiatives such as the Serve Legal Foundation, which provides scholarships and professional development opportunities.
In 2024, we raised over £1,000 for Young Minds and expanded our charitable reach through activities like sponsoring the Leeds University Rugby Team. Our compliance services further extend our impact by addressing societal challenges, such as underage access to vapes and allergen mismanagement. By driving meaningful change, we’re proud to be a contender for the Philanthropy Award.
Impact Company of the Year
This award celebrates companies with demonstrable and lasting impact through their operations. Serve Legal exemplifies this with initiatives like our Green Mileage Scheme, which reduces environmental impact while fostering inclusivity, allowing auditors to participate regardless of car ownership. In 2024, we engaged over 10,000 young auditors, providing them with flexible work opportunities that fit their lifestyles.
We also supported a number of businesses with free trial audits, helping clients proactively improve compliance with critical regulations. These efforts directly address societal concerns like safer gambling, allergen management, and age verification. Measurable results, such as a 43% improvement in allergy audit scores for one client in just a year, demonstrate our commitment to fostering safer communities.
Tech for Good Award
This award recognises organisations that use technology to improve lives and foster a better world. Serve Legal’s innovative efforts, particularly through the launch of Serve Legal Labs, embody the principles of the Tech for Good Award. Serve Legal Labs supports businesses in adopting equitable and effective technologies, such as age estimation and Digital ID, ensuring these tools are implemented smoothly and inclusively.
Our work offers independent audits and pilot testing of age estimation technology, helping businesses refine these systems for real-world use. Collaborations like our partnership with Durham University ensure precise, academically-backed certification services that minimise errors and foster trust in biometric tools. Additionally, we’ve developed ethically curated testing frameworks to evaluate fairness across demographics and refine liveness detection systems to prevent fraud.
