Serve Legal go Yellow for Young Minds

October 10th is a significant day for both Serve Legal and Young Minds as it marks a day to champion support for young people's mental health through the #HelloYellow campaign. In late 2022, Serve Legal pledged its support not only to its young working population but also to the broader younger generations by selecting a dedicated charity. After a staff vote, Young Minds was chosen as the beneficiary, and today, we are delighted to announce that we have surpassed our target of £1,000 worth of donations. We are incredibly proud of our Serve Legal team and auditors for their fundraising efforts and involvement in internal challenges and competitions.

Young Minds is a mental health charity committed to children, young people, and their parents, ensuring that all young individuals have access to the mental health support they need. Every contribution to Young Minds makes a significant impact:

  • A £5 donation can reach out to 205 young people, reminding them that they are not alone in their mental health journey.
  • £30 can help train a Young Activist to provide essential support to their peers.
  • A donation of £67.50 could provide one parent or carer with a call back from an independent Professional Advisor.
  • £219 can fund the training of one Parents Helpline Advisor, empowering them to offer valuable support.

To commemorate this day and show our solidarity, our Serve Legal team has actively participated in #HelloYellow by donning yellow attire and baking yellow goodies. This not only allowed us to donate more funds to the cause but also sparked essential conversations among our staff about the significance of mental health openness and support.

At Serve Legal, we take pride in offering our team a workplace environment that prioritises personal well-being. We provide each staff member with a budget to enhance their home workspaces and improve their mental health. We also encourage flexible working hours to ensure that personal and social occasions are not compromised by rigid 9-to-5 schedules. We hope that our proactive approach to promoting well-being within the workplace sets a positive example for other small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).

Beyond our financial contributions, we are committed to actively supporting the mental well-being of our auditor community. We foster personal relationships between each auditor and their Area Manager, allowing for continuous monitoring of each auditor’s well-being, and workload. Auditors have 24/7 access to gambling and addiction support documents on their working portal, and we regularly host virtual drop-in sessions. These sessions provide auditors with the opportunity to meet with staff members to discuss work-related issues, enhance their CVs, or simply have a friendly chat.

Serve Legal's dedication to supporting Young Minds and promoting mental well-being within its team and auditor community reflects our commitment to making a positive impact on young people's lives. By donating, participating in #HelloYellow, and fostering a healthy workplace environment, we aim to inspire others to prioritize mental health and well-being as well. Together, we can create a brighter future for the youth by offering them the support they need to thrive.
