Protect against unnecessary losses with our revenue protection audits.
Our Revenue Protection Audits provide a robust and independent test of operational compliance to ensure that staff members are following company policies around revenue protection.
Our programmes cover five key areas of shop-floor compliance:
Staffed Till Compliance
Ensuring all items are scanned correctly by staff and customers are correctly charged. This audit can include, for example, assessing whether staff check for any items left in the trolley and/or ensure multiple loose items packed in the same bakery or veg bag are scanned correctly.
Self Check Out Compliance
Ensuring customers are unable to obtain items without paying for them. This audit can include, for example, assessing whether staff are monitoring customers weighing loose items correctly and ensuring all items which leave the store have been scanned by the customer.
Absent Customer Audit
Ensuring delivery couriers are safely delivering orders when customers are not available for delivery. This audit ensures that customers are still receiving products should they miss their delivery slot.
Concealed Items Audit
Ensure items aren't being concealed inside other items, and therefore not being paid for at check out. The audit can assess whether checkout staff follow processes to check inside items known to be a target to conceal other items by customers attempting to shoplift.
Expiring Date Audits
Safeguard your customers with our rigorous and thorough in store audits, checking your fresh and frozen produce to ensure they are within their sell-by-date.

About us
In early 2006, Ed Heaver and Julian Sargeson were alcohol retailers with a problem. The local authority had decided one of their sites was consistently serving underage people.
They wanted to check their staff, measure the site performance and demonstrate to the authority they were taking the issue seriously. They couldn't find a company providing a cost-effective service, so they decided to do it themselves.
The business has since grown to become the market leading provider of compliance auditing services in the UK & Ireland, and a leading voice in the conversations around age-verification and food allergy policy.
Our Customer Experience Allergen audit has been designed in collaboration with an experienced Environmental Health Practitioner and is approved by Trading Standards.

Frequently asked questions
Serve Legal will design a bespoke audit process with your business to ensure your specific needs are being met. Typically, these audits involve the auditor checking to see if staff at manned tills are scanning all items correctly, and/or checking that staff monitoring self-checkouts are alert to shoplifting attempts.
Our team of Area Managers personally brief the required process to each Auditor, supported by a bespoke briefing document. Each received report is also thoroughly checked and validated by our specialist Approving Team.
Serve Legal has created a unique community of Auditors which cover all areas of the UK and ROI every day, all year round.
The audit reports we provide support our clients to identify vulnerabilities or areas for improvement within staff training, monitoring and the customer journey. Our Power BI data dashboard allows us to share real-time trends with our clients so that incidences of non-compliance can be quickly followed up, and examples of best practice can be easily shared across the business.
Serve Legal works with businesses to create an audit process that are tailored to their specific needs and can help identify any areas that can help improve compliance and enhance staff training.
The frequency of audits may depend on various factors, such as the audit process, budget and size of the testing estate. We recommend that businesses conduct regular audits in order to accurately monitor changing trends and quickly identify concerns; this usually means testing all sites at least quarterly.
We are flexible and work with our clients to accommodate changes in scheduling or other unforeseen circumstances. Speak to our team for more information about this.
